The national and local governments encourage tourism to vacation spots nearby and even beyond. Twenty electric power-generating Windmills of Bangui Bay are the first ever built in Southeast Asia. Three UNESCO World Heritage Sites are located in the North of the Philippines, namely, the historical Baroque Church of Paoay with the famous Paoay lake nearby, the Historic Town of Vigan, and the Banawe Rice Terraces, dubbed as the 'Eighth Wonder of the World'.

More tourist destinations include 40 km 4-wheel drive to Ilocos Norte's Summer Town of Adams located on the northern tip of the Cordillera Mountains (locally-built tricycles are also available at the national road in Pansian, as well as in Adams), Juan Luna's House in Badoc, Marcos and Ilocos Norte Museums in Batac and Laoag, and the new Ilocos Norte Hotel and Convention Center in Laoag.

Desired attractions are the International Airport Terminal Building in Laoag City, consulates of different countries (especially from Southeast Asia), more five star hotels, restaurants, casinos, and perhaps an electro-magnetic train all the way to and from Manila!
